MR BURTON explores the early life of acclaimed actor and film star, Richard Burton. Born into a poor and chaotic mining family in Port Talbot in Wales, the young Richard Jenkins is a wild and unruly teenager. Teacher Philip Burton recognises the raw talent in him, takes him under his wing and helps him to realise his ambition to be an actor.
