Our series of Afternoon Recitals continues with a programme of classical piano, jazz, organ and vocal performances.
For today’s recital we are delighted to welcome back pianist Cristo Harijan to the Fratry Hall.

Commended for having ‘fluid virtuosity in combination with a mature and thoughtful musicality’ by local music critic William Byrne, Cristo Harijan is a 24 year old, aspiring British-American pianist based in the Northeast of England.
After spending the first 12 years of his life in upstate New York, Cristo moved to the Uk to continue his studies.
Cristo was accepted into Chethams school of music in 2015, there he was immediately noticed by head of keyboard Murray Mclachlan for his ‘fiery virtuosity’, who took him on as a student. Cristo continued his studies with Murray at the RNCM where he graduated with a 1st in 2023, receiving emphatic praise following his final recital.
After graduating from the RNCM, Cristo pursued the prestigious Artist Diploma at the école normale de musique de Paris, studying under renowned French pianist Pierre Reach. Cristo graduated in May 2025, receiving ‘mention très bien’ from the jury.
